Botox Anti Ageing - Wrinkle Smoothing Treatments Sheffield
Botulinum Toxin treatment (Botox) is clinically proven to reduce the signs of ageing and eliminate wrinkles around the face and neck.
As we age, over-active muscle movement gradually leads to loss of collagen, causing the skin to crease and wrinkles to appear (often known as expression lines). In addition, excessive sun exposure, alcohol consumption, emotional and hormonal influences and smoking can also increase the likelihood of wrinkles.
At Millhouses Dental, Cosmetic and Implant Clinic in Sheffield we use a simple, non-surgical treatment that relaxes these muscles, preventing the formation of wrinkles and smoothing out lines. The procedure is suitable for men and women and works only on the specific muscles treated, leaving surrounding muscles to function normally. Therefore, it enables normal facial expression, just with fewer wrinkles.
Botox® is a well known brand of a very popular anti wrinkle treatment, the same product is also known under other brand names such as Vistabel ® & Dysport®.
They all contain a purified protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles known to cause facial lines to form over time. They have been used for cosmetic treatments since the late 1980's, revolutionising the cosmetic industry due to the remarkable results combined with very few risks and no recovery time.
Botulinum has been used in thousands of patients over the last fifteen years. It is made in a controlled, sterile laboratory, is highly purified and only given in tiny quantities. It has an excellent safety profile and there have been no serious side-effects reported in association with its use.

- forehead lines
- smile lines (crows feet) around the eyes
How Long Does the Treatment Take?
In most cases the treatment will take between 10 and 20 minutes and will involve a few tiny injections. This allows for “walk in, walk out” appointments for your convenience. Effects will begin to appear within 48 to 72 hours although the full extent of the treatment may not be visible for up to 10 days. Approximately two weeks after the first treatment, the effects will be reviewed with your clinician and any further treatments or top-ups can be discussed.
How Long are the Results Maintained?
The results last for approximately 4-6 months. Repeat treatments cause the effects to last longer, as the muscles strength reduces.
Is it a Comfortable Procedure?
We can use a special anaesthetic cream to ensure complete comfort throughout the procedure, if you wish.
Who Will Carry Out the Procedure?
The procedure will only be carried out by our fully qualified, registered and insured clinician.
